About

I'm a fiction writer, teacher, and student who lives in Salt Lake City, with roots nourished in the San Francisco Bay. I go by Camie for the everyday. I've been going to school by the mountains for the past eight years, where I'm in the process of taking a BA to a PhD at the University of Utah. I study mostly creative writing and literature, with the occasional letterpress and book arts class slipping in the cracks.

I teach composition and creative writing courses, and am also a co-editor of Quarterly West. I'm currently at work on a novel, Illustrating Ruth.

I live in a wisteria-covered duplex on a busy street; I like walking, Victoriana, insects, and mermaids. Italics are my favorite flavor of type. I rely too much on Instagram to take pictures (it's the polaroid edge that undoes me).
